Kanovits Wins Silver in Munich: From Poster Roots to Presidential Commissions
The founder of Kanovits Print Atelier—a company with nearly twenty years of experience producing premium print products and winning global competitions—started out printing simple posters. Today, owner Zoltán Kanovits is proud of the firm's milestones, history, and international clientele.
Success at Home and Abroad
In and around Dunajská Streda, there is hardly a main road without a Kanovits billboard. Yet many do not realize that alongside twenty years on the market, the company has driven continuous technical and professional advancements that are recognized in print circles both at home and abroad.
A Company Cannot Succeed Without Talented People.
Thanks to its extensive expertise and professionalism, the company now boasts several prestigious international awards. Today, the Kanovits name is known across neighboring countries as well as in major creative hubs like London, Milan, Tokyo, and New York. Despite international recognition, the volume of overseas orders remains focused, as the printing industry is inherently local and long-distance shipping of short-run products can quickly double overall costs. "However, agencies and major brands from Vienna and Budapest reach out to us continuously, and we have delivered projects as far as Taiwan, Singapore, and London. At the same time, we love fulfilling everyday small orders for local entrepreneurs and artists," says Zoltán Kanovits.
"We started twenty years ago doing only billboards, commercial signage, and citylights. Whenever we printed a poster for a client, they soon returned asking for matching promotional materials, such as business cards or flyers. Step by step, we invested in our own cutting-edge equipment," explains founder Zoltán Kanovits.
About a decade ago, the printing industry reached a major turning point: rapid technological advances allowed digital printing to overtake traditional offset technology in key areas. Kanovits Print Atelier seized this opportunity immediately. Today, among other high-end machinery, the atelier operates one of the most advanced Japanese digital presses in the region.
As a result of twenty years of relentless dedication, the reputation of Kanovits has spread globally. In recent years, Zoltán Kanovits has been invited to speak at numerous international graphic arts summits and trade fairs—first in Portugal, followed by Tokyo, Milan, Bangkok, and Singapore.
"Just a few days ago, we received our latest award at the world’s largest annual competition for printers. Three of our submissions reached the grand final. We took second place, finishing just behind a Swiss company. We accepted the trophy last week in Munich," says Zoltán Kanovits with pride.
